Joomla CMS
Joomla 6.1.3, the latest stable release, already installed - no web installer to click through - on Apache 2.4, PHP 8.3 and MySQL 8.0, with phpMyAdmin and Webmin for the host. Search-engine-friendly URLs are on, PHP is tuned for media uploads and long admin tasks, and the site works out its own address from each request, so a stop/start or a new Elastic IP needs no reconfiguration.

ubuntuwith your key pair. Change passwords withsudo bash /home/ubuntu/iscripts/pass_joomla.sh,pass_mysql.shorpass_webmin.sh; new passwords need at least 12 characters, Joomla's own minimum.PHP allows 128 MB uploads and 256 MB memory. Joomla connects to MySQL as its own database user, so changing the MySQL root password never breaks the site.
Security posture
What this image does and does not ship with, one fact per line.
Clean-room build on Canonical's official Ubuntu 24.04 LTS image: every component comes from its own official repository or release, nothing is copied from any third-party image, and the finished image was scanned for third-party vendor strings before capture.
No usable credential ships in the image; passwords are set on your instance at first boot from EC2 instance metadata (IMDSv2) and the scripts that set them delete themselves afterwards.
SSH is key-only, and build-time SSH keys, shell history and logs were removed before imaging.
Joomla was installed with its own command-line installer, which also removes the installation directory.
First boot sets the Joomla admin, MySQL root and Webmin passwords and regenerates both Joomla's secret and the phpMyAdmin cookie key, so no session or token key is shared between instances; the site uses a dedicated database user rather than root.
The bundled password tools enforce at least 12 characters with upper- and lower-case letters, a number and a symbol.
The image is HTTP-only by design so it works at a bare IP with no certificate warnings: terminate TLS at a load balancer or add a certificate before exposing it publicly, and restrict port 22 and any admin ports to trusted IP ranges in your security group.
