IT Helpdesk & Asset Management
IT service desk and asset management server built on GLPI 12.0.0, with MariaDB, the GLPI inventory agent and Webmin on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. Handle support tickets with SLAs, give users a self-service portal, and keep a CMDB of computers, network devices, software, licences and contracts. Hardware and software inventory arrives automatically from the agent, and the server has already added itself, so your asset list is not empty on first sign-in. The site address follows the instance's public IP.

Getting started
From launch to signed in, step by step.
Subscribe on AWS Marketplace and launch in your region with TCP
22,80and8000open; wait about three minutes for first boot.Open
http://<instance-public-ip>/and sign in with usernameadminand your EC2 Instance ID, lowercase exactly as the console shows it (for examplei-0123456789abcdef0). Webmin is on port8000with the same username and password. To inventory other machines, install the GLPI agent on them and point it at
http://<instance-public-ip>/with the agent username and password thatsudo bash /home/ubuntu/iscripts/glpi_status.shprints.SSH as
ubuntuwith your key pair. Change passwords withsudo bash /home/ubuntu/iscripts/pass_glpi.shorpass_webmin.sh.The image serves plain HTTP so it works on a bare IP; add your own domain and certificate, or a load balancer with HTTPS, for production.
Security posture
What this image does and does not ship with, one fact per line.
Clean-room build on Canonical's official Ubuntu 24.04 LTS image: every component comes from its own official source, and nothing is copied from any third-party image.
GLPI and its agent are the official releases, checksum-verified.
The four demo accounts with published passwords are deleted and the installer is removed.
No credentials ship in the image: on first boot every instance creates its own admin password, encryption key, OAuth keys, database password and inventory-agent password from EC2 instance metadata (IMDSv2).
Files follow the GLPI security guide layout with only the public folder served, and MariaDB listens only on 127.0.0.1.
SSH is key-only, and build-time SSH keys, host keys, machine ID, shell history and logs were removed before imaging.
The bundled password tools enforce at least 10 characters with upper- and lower-case letters, a number and a symbol.
The image is HTTP-only by design: put TLS in front before exposing it publicly, and restrict ports 22 and 8000 to trusted IP ranges in your security group.
GLPI is a trademark of Teclib'; this is an independent build.
