code-server Browser IDE
code-server 4.143.1 (Code 1.143.1) with Node.js 24 LTS, Python 3.12, Git, GitHub CLI, AWS CLI v2, Docker with Compose and build tools on Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. Write, run and debug code from any web browser with a full editor, integrated terminal and Open VSX extensions, while your code, builds and containers run on a cloud server you control. HTTPS works from the first boot, and a helper switches the server to your own domain with a trusted certificate.

Security posture
What this image does and does not ship with, one fact per line.
Clean-room build on Canonical's official Ubuntu 24.04 LTS image: code-server is the official release, and nothing is copied from any third-party image. code-server listens only on the server itself behind nginx with HTTPS.
No password or key ships in the image: on first boot every instance creates its own random passwords, HTTPS certificate and server keys, which you read over SSH with `sudo pc-credentials show`.
Webmin listens only on the server itself and is reached through an SSH tunnel, SSH is key-only, and build-time SSH keys, host keys, machine ID, shell history and logs were removed before imaging.
Replace the self-signed certificate with a trusted one before production use, and restrict port 22 to trusted IP ranges in your security group.
